Plan Separate Crystal Gifts for Several Family Members

By Giftenova Team – Published October 22, 2026

Fictional planning example: drawn source cards and local gift records, not photos, crystals, engraving results or an order form.

Keep one record for each crystal you are giving: who it is for, the exact photo file, who is in that photo, the exact engraved line or a deliberately empty text field, and the shape, size and stand you chose. Then check each record on its own before you order.

The people, photos and choices in this guide are a fictional example.

Give each crystal its own recipient and photo

A record is your own planning note for one physical crystal. It is not a form on our site and nothing has to be submitted with it; it keeps one gift's details together until you enter them on the product page.

This guide is for several separate crystals, one for each person. Putting several people inside one crystal is a different decision, and so is choosing one shared gift for a whole household. It also assumes you have already decided that a crystal suits each recipient.

For the basic shape and display choices, use the 3D crystal guide before assigning the details of each gift.

In the example, you are preparing gifts for three adult relatives: Lila, Noor and Ari. You have two photos, and everyone pictured has agreed to their use for these gifts:

  • pair-01.jpg shows Lila and Noor together.
  • group-02.jpg shows Lila, Noor and Ari.

Lila and Noor each want the photo of the two of them. A gift can use a photo its recipient appears in, but it does not have to; what matters is that the picture carries the meaning the giver intends. Ari specifically wants all three of them together.

Three gifts keep the example readable; it is not a suggested number. The letters A, B and C label your records only. They are not product codes or order numbers.

Decide what can match and what should differ

Some details can repeat on purpose: two gifts can share a source photo, a shape and size, or an empty text field. Repeating a choice does not promise identical engravings, and two crystals of the same outside size do not necessarily share the same framing or depth inside.

Which details can repeat
Detail Can it repeat? In the example
Who the gift is for No, one person per record Lila, Noor, Ari
People it should show Decide for each gift A and B: Lila and Noor. C: all three
Source photo Yes, by deliberate choice A and B share pair-01.jpg
Engraved text Yes, including none A and C have a line; B has none
Shape and size Yes, by deliberate choice A and B: Rectangle Small. C: Rectangle Medium
Stand Yes, by deliberate choice B: LED Stand. A and C: Crystal Only
Open questions Resolve for each gift None left in the final records

Here are the three final records side by side:

Final records for the three gifts (fictional example)
Field Gift A Gift B Gift C
For Lila Noor Ari
Photo file pair-01.jpg pair-01.jpg group-02.jpg
People in the photo Lila, Noor Lila, Noor Lila, Noor, Ari
Engraved text "Summer together" Custom Text left empty "Our three, 2026"
Shape and size Rectangle Small Rectangle Small Rectangle Medium
Stand Crystal Only LED Stand Crystal Only

These option choices are illustrations that matched the product listing when this guide was prepared. Check what is available, and the figure range listed for each size, when you actually order.

Recipient names and file names belong in your records. Neither is engraved automatically; a name appears on a crystal only if you type it as part of that gift's text. For Gift B, leave the optional Custom Text field empty. Do not type "blank" or "none" there, because the field takes what you type as the text to engrave. The Notes field is for special requests: it is not extra engraving space, and it does not replace the photo upload or the text field.

If the wording is still undecided, see what to write on a photo crystal, then record the exact final line for that gift.

Copy that line into the record exactly as it should appear, and check the current text allowance on the product page.

Match each photo to the selected crystal option

Count every person or pet you want shown in each final photo, and compare that count with the figure range listed for that size and shape. The range belongs to the option you select, not to the product as a whole.

When this guide was prepared, the listing described Rectangle Small as "ideal for 1 to 2 figures" and Rectangle Medium as "ideal for 1 to 3 figures". pair-01.jpg shows two people, within the range listed for Small, so Gifts A and B can stay Rectangle Small. group-02.jpg shows three, so a Small choice for Gift C needs rechecking, and the range listed for Medium is the one to consider. Being inside a range does not confirm that a photo is sharp enough, how much depth it will have or how the finished crystal will look.

The listing also explains that a photo with more figures than the selected block can carry at full depth is engraved in 2D rather than 3D. That is a different treatment, not a hidden fix that turns an overcrowded photo into the 3D result you wanted. If 3D matters for a gift, settle its size or photo before you submit it.

For the fuller figure-count and depth decision, read about group photos in a 3D crystal.

Keep size and stand as separate choices. The stand options are Crystal Only, LED Stand and Rotating LED Stand, and Crystal Only means no stand. Check that the exact combination you want is offered when you order.

Write each selected option into its record in full, such as "Rectangle Small, LED Stand", rather than "same as A". A larger size is not a measure of how much a gift means, and it will not make a blurry face sharper. Where the recipient will display it can inform the size, but it does not change the figure check.

Catch a wrong-file mix-up before it becomes an order

A copied record can carry the wrong photo even when its recipient, intent and message are right. In the example, Gift C was started by copying Gift A. It says Ari, the intent "all three together" and the text "Our three, 2026", but it still points to pair-01.jpg and Rectangle Small. Opening the actual image shows only Lila and Noor: Ari is not in it.

Gift C before and after correction (fictional example)
Field Before: copied from A After correction
For Ari Ari
Intended people All three All three
Photo file pair-01.jpg group-02.jpg
People actually in the photo Lila, Noor Lila, Noor, Ari
Figure count 2 3
Shape and size Rectangle Small Rectangle Medium
Engraved text "Our three, 2026" "Our three, 2026" (reread, unchanged)
Stand Crystal Only Crystal Only

Changing the file changes more than one field, so correct Gift C in order:

  1. Confirm that group-02.jpg is the photo Ari's gift should use and that it may be used.
  2. Recount the people in it: three.
  3. Recheck the size. Three is outside the range listed for Small, so check the range listed for Medium and choose Rectangle Medium.
  4. Reread the text. "Our three, 2026" still fits, because the photo now shows all three.
  5. Open group-02.jpg once more and confirm it matches the size recorded for Gift C.

Gifts A and B do not change. Correct only C, without overwriting the pair-01.jpg file that A and B still use, and keep your original files separate from any edited copies.

If no suitable photo of all three exists, do not try to add Ari to another picture or combine several files into one. Change what Gift C will show, or wait until the right photo is available.

Read back each gift separately before submitting

Check Gift A, then B, then C on its own: recipient, the file you will actually upload, who is in it, the exact text or empty field, and the exact shape, size and stand. One successful upload does not confirm the others, so give each gift its own readback.

Enter each gift's details using only the fields and options the product page offers. Your records are a checklist, not an ordering feature, and this guide does not describe a way to copy one personalization across several items or to order in bulk.

If the page does not make it clear how to keep each gift's photo and text separate, contact us before ordering rather than relying on a Notes message to sort the files.

If a file or permission is still missing, our guide to collecting family photos for a gift covers that earlier step.

Production and delivery estimates, and the shipping options available to you, are shown on the product page and at checkout.

Check the current fields and available options on the 3D Crystal Photo Block before submitting each gift's details.
