Are Custom Photo Puzzles Matte or Glossy?

Custom photo puzzles come with a matte finish. There is no glossy option and no finish selector at checkout; the only choice is the piece count. The matte surface helps reduce glare under lamps and windows.

The Finish Is Matte

Every piece count uses the same matte finish, printed onto the puzzle-grade card stock. Finish is not something you pick when ordering, so there is no matte-or-glossy decision to make: the piece count (and, on the photo block puzzle, the shape) is the only option shown at checkout.

What Matte Means While You Solve

A matte surface scatters light rather than reflecting it back at you, so the image stays easier to look at under a lamp or near a window while you assemble the puzzle. It is the same finish across the whole range, including the gift-box counts and the 99-piece tube version.
